Vino Mio, a restaurant in Malaga famous for its good food, the lively atmosphere and the FLAMENCO! We went there with Birgers parents Sonja and John Birger. And surely, the food was really something! I had the Cous-Cous, and have to say that is actually one of the best ones I have tasted. Birger ordered meat- no surprise there, and loved it. Sonja and John Birger chose the duck and that was the most impressive of all- huge and so deliciously crispy and full of flavour! Go there!
Then there was the entertainment- a handsome man and his protegee playing the guitar, a young firefull lady dancing. She trampled her feet so hard I thought the floor would break! The crowd went crasy when she started picking out people from the tabels to dance with her, everyone wanted to show their best Matador. Of course, there was no way the young girl could ignore the handsomest man in the reastaurant- Birger! He turned out to be a natural, and the crowd cheered! I sat ready with my camera of course, making sure not to miss a single frame. Yeah…no. I have no pictures of this glorious moment. Sorry. I wonder if Birger is sorry. But he did want me to get one of those flamenco dresses.
told you so!!!!!!!!
Greetings Anja van der Pluijm
Thank you for the tip! We will be going back there soon
)
I mailed the Dutch owner of Vino Mio that you visited her restaurant. She asked me for your weblog. I loved the drawing of the Flamenco dancer.
Thank you, I got a mail from her today:)
We spend our Semana Santa in Totalán, together with Birger, Mabel and Walter and we had a great time together.
The first four days we stayed in the top apartment and the other days at the B&B room at the street level.
Three young ladies from Amsterdam were renting the top apartment.
It was so funny, because they are living in the same area in Amsterdam where I was living in more than 26 years, before I moved to Norway in 1975.
It was the first time we tried this room with a good bed, TV, shower, toilet and a cozy corner with a sofa.
The room is in bright colors, decorated with nice paintings on the wall.
On Good Friday we were in Málaga to see the very special and endless processions.
Afterwards we had an excellent dinner at the restaurant ” Vino Mio ” (Dutch owners).
This restaurant was recommended by Anja van der Pluijm (sister in law of the former owners of La Casa Esperanza).
We’ll also recommend this restaurant to our friends and family and we’ll coming back.
Every Friday there is a Flamenco show, fantastic !!
When I came from the toilet, I saw Birger on the dancing floor with the Flamenco dancer. She selected also other men afterwards to dance with her.
The last evening at La Casa Esperanza Mabel made a dinner for us. Birger didn’t feel so well. He got a cold earlier that day, because he, Mabel and John went to the beach for SUP (stand up padling).
Mabel always tells that she doesn’t like to cook, she isn’t an expert.
But it isn’t true. She served a wonderful and healthy dish, so just keep on Mabel !! Practice makes perfect !
Thanks for a lovely Easter. We are coming back.
We love Andalucía
Sorry Mabel, I forgot to comment something about your drawings. They caught the moments !
Next visit at Casa Esperanza I will go to Vino Mio. I will make me a beautiful flamencodress and hopefully, with blushing cheek, wait for a mail dancer,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Mamma! You are so bad! <3 <3
Thanks a lot for the comment and the very nice drawing. I just shared your log with the Facebook of Vino Mio. The flamenco show we have 6 days a week. From Monday to Saturday from 20.30 till 22.00. And Sundays we have flamenco in our other Vino Mio next to the theatre Cervantes. It starts at 19.00 and it is without dancing because of our lovely new wooden floor…..
You are all more than welcome! Greetings, Hélène 615 689570
